German to English staff translator

We are currently seeking a full-time German-English in-house translator and proofreader. You will be an English native-speaker with a good degree in German and ideally a post-graduate translation qualification. An additional language such as French would be a further advantage. You will be required to translate a wide variety of different subject matters to a high level of accuracy at a workrate of around 2000 words per day. Proofreading the work of other internal and external translators is also an important part of the position.

Since translation requiring processing with CAT tools is a growing part of our business, we are seeking someone either with experience of CAT processing, or a demonstrable ability to quickly acquire new IT skills leading to competence in a variety of different CAT environments.

In addition to excellent translation skills, you will demonstrate flexibility in accommodating our often challenging client deadlines, and will liaise efficiently with both project-managers and other translators to facilitate larger translation projects. There may also be opportunities to gain experience in project-management during busy periods.

German to English freelance translators

We are currently recruiting freelance German to English translators and proofreaders, specialising in financial, marketing, IT / technical and medical texts. If you are an experienced and motivated mother-tongue English freelance translator, who fulfils the following criteria and has a solid translation background, you could be joining our freelance team:

• Minimum 2 years freelance translation experience or 3 years in-house translation experience
• Translating from German to English and specialising in financial, marketing, IT / technical or medical texts.
